The Hospital House Ministry began in 1972. In the past Meadowbrook has operated this ministry in apartments and houses at various locations around the Jackson, Mississippi, area. We were recently able to purchase two houses adjacent to our church property.
One of these houses is used as a Hospital House.
This ministry serves families who are receiving medical care through the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC). Social workers at UMMC place families who need free lodging in our house. The families who stay in the house are extremely grateful for this blessing in their lives.
One of the houses is part of our Crossover Ministry program and serves as temporary residence for those who are trying to get on their feet.
Approximately 30 cleaning teams from our congregation are involved in taking care of these houses. Marcia Oden, Dixie Livingston, and Charleen Read coordinate this ministry
