Matt's House named for the former Stewpot Executive Director Matt Devenney, provides emergency shelter for homeless women and their children who have no other place to go. For up to 35 guests a night, Matt's house offers a safe, nurturing environment while staff members assist residents in finding housing, employment, and transportation. During their stay at Matt's House, clients are also offered regular classes in parenting, self-esteem, job searching, and household finances.
Meadowbrook teaches a devotional at this house for homeless and abused women on the first and second sunday of each month. The service begins at approximately 7:45 a.m. and takes about 30-45 minutes. At that time, we also teach a children's Bible study. Volunteers are needed to teach both classes, read scripture, sing or simply provide moral support. All ages are invited to participate in this ministry.
