How it all started...
Like every family and church, Meadowbrook has a story—one with deep roots. This community of believers began near Meadowbrook Road in the early 1960s, branching out from the Central Church of Christ, which originally met in downtown Jackson and later relocated to Sunnybrook Road in Ridgeland.
Our spiritual heritage is tied to the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement of the 1820s—a renewal effort led by Barton Stone and Alexander Campbell. Their mission was to encourage unity among followers of Jesus by returning to the simple, powerful message of Scripture. Even these early leaders brought with them rich diversity, coming from Presbyterian, Methodist, Anabaptist, Mennonite, and other traditions.

Expanding the vision...
While we honor and appreciate the legacy of the Churches of Christ and the values the Stone-Campbell tradition has instilled in us—like unity, scriptural depth, and faith in action—we believe our purpose is more than preserving the past. Our heart is to love God fully and love our neighbors well. Around Meadowbrook, we often say we want to be “the hands and feet of Jesus.” That vision calls us beyond tradition and into transformation—living out our faith in real, tangible ways within our church family and community.
Where we are headed...
Today, we’re on a Spirit-led journey of discovery. We believe God is always doing something new, and our commitment is to stay rooted in Scripture while being responsive to where the Spirit is leading.
Our future is shaped by a growing vision of Jesus—a vision that fuels our worship, deepens our relationships, and expands our reach. At Meadowbrook, we’re building a church that looks more like Jesus every day—for this generation and the next.
